Where most of his friends were watching the big national promotions, he fell down the rabbit hole into old-school, late territorial era and early 80s wrestling. He fell in love not just with the wrestlers, but with the voices around them — the steady presence of announcers and interviewers who made the chaos feel real.

Pursuing respectability, he studied journalism at Duquesne University. But when Iron City Wrestling needed someone to carry the microphone, he jumped at the chance — seeing it as a way to combine his lifelong passion with his training. Though young and a little stiff, his sharp knowledge of wrestling history and his professional discipline quickly made him stand out.
