UTA comes to Birmingham and finds out what the Great Southern Trendkill really means!

BIRMINGHAM, AL (Aug. 15, 2025) — Iron City Wrestling kicked off the Great Southern Trendkill Tour in our backyard at the Boutwell Memorial Auditorium with a statement night for the brand. From the opening hype to the final bell, ICW talent showed up and showed out.
“Knuckles up. Iron sharpens iron.” -Eric Dane, Sr.
Iron Kid vs. El Fantasma Oscuro
Iron Kid hit Birmingham like a bolt of caffeine—springboards, wheels, and zero fear—before the veteran specter dragged him into deep water. The end came when Oscuro spiked him with Whispers of Death (second-rope inverted snap DDT) for the pin. Even in defeat, the building gave the Kid his flowers.
John Phillips: “A hard-fought battle from Iron Kid. You can’t teach heart like that.”
Velocity Vanguard vs. Ryder & Durant vs. Rich Young GRPLRZ
Trust Fund’s hitmen delivered. In a chaotic three-team sprint, Rich Young GRPLRZ (Jacoby Jacobs & Darian Darrington) timed the final scramble perfectly and stole the fall on Velocity Vanguard.
John Phillips: “They stole it! Iron City’s Rich Young GRPLRZ just pinned Velocity Vanguard!”
Mark Bravo: “Statement made in Birmingham—GRPLRZ cash in on chaos and walk out with the W!”
(Pre-match, the boys made their intentions plain: “We’re the GRPLRZ, baby.”)
Title vs. Title Main Event: Graysie Parker vs. Aaron Shaffer
Iron Crown Champion Graysie Parker walked into a title-for-title showdown with WrestleZone Champion Aaron Shaffer and walked out wearing both belts. When Shaffer missed Eye of the Storm, Parker cinched in her submission and forced the tap in front of a roaring hometown crowd.
Mark Bravo: “He tapped! Shaffer tapped out!! GRAYSIE PARKER WINS!!”
John Phillips: “Graysie Parker is now a dual champion!”
Earlier in the night, Parker framed the moment with simple clarity:
Graysie Parker: “You’re gonna know you stood across from Graysie Parker. And after tonight? Everybody will.”
UTA might be taking it's Great Southern Trendkill tour away from Birmingham moving forward, but the entire promotion will remain forever changed by one night in the Iron City! What's next for the RYG and the new WrestleZone Champion Graysie Parker in the United Toughness Alliance? Only God (and Rich Wingate) know that, but the rest of us can't wait to catch up!
